Shadow Kill

2002, Movie, 1h 30min

Director Adoor Gopalakrishnan probes profound questions of justice, morality, and the very nature of human consciousness through a complex psychological portrait of Kaliyappan (Oduvil Unnikrishnan), an alcoholic hangman in 1940s British India, who faces a deepening moral crisis as he grapples with feelings of guilt and remorse over the job he must do.
