Pilgrimage

In the 13th century, a group of monks embarks on a perilous journey across Ireland to transport a sacred relic to Rome. The relic, a stone used to martyr Saint Matthias, is believed to possess immense power, and the Pope hopes to harness its power for an upcoming crusade. The monks, led by Brother Diarmuid and accompanied by a mute laborer, face numerous challenges on their journey, including treacherous terrain, violent soldiers, and Gaelic warriors. As they navigate their dangerous path, the monks must confront their own beliefs and motivations, and the true nature of their mission is revealed. Will they be able to deliver the relic safely, or will the power of the stone prove too great for them to handle?
