Lapwing

In the isolated countryside of 16th century England, a mute young woman named Patience lives under the control of her brother-in-law David, the leader of their tight-knit community. As the Egyptian Act threatens to expel all "gypsies" from the country, David agrees to harbor a family of outsiders in exchange for a fee. But when Patience begins an affair with one of the visitors, she sparks a violent and psychologically charged power struggle with David, who will stop at nothing to maintain his grip on power and control.
