Indochine

Set in colonial Indochina in the 1930s, "Indochine" tells the story of Eliane Devries, a French plantation owner, and her adoptive Vietnamese daughter, Camille. Their lives are forever changed when they cross paths with a young French Navy officer named Jean-Baptiste. A torrid affair between Eliane and Jean-Baptiste leads to a series of tragic events that ultimately transforms Camille into a revolutionary fighting for Vietnam's independence. The movie is a passionate and violent tale of love, loss, and rebellion, set against the backdrop of a crumbling colonial empire. With stunning cinematography and powerful performances, "Indochine" won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1992.
