Stanley Milgram, a renowned social psychologist, conducts a series of controversial experiments at Yale University in 1961, testing the limits of human obedience to authority. Despite the pleas of the strangers they are administering electric shocks to, the majority of test subjects continue to follow orders, raising questions about free will and the power of social pressure. As Milgram's career advances, he continues to study human behavior in various experiments, but the ethical implications of his work haunt him. Featuring archival footage and a cameo by Milgram's wife, Sasha, the film explores the complexities of human nature and the consequences of blind obedience.
