In the lawless frontier of Bolivia, Butch Cassidy, now going by the name James Blackthorn, has lived in secret for 20 years. With the passing of his dear friend Etta Place, Blackthorn decides it's time to return home and reveal his true identity to his son, Ryan. But before he can leave, he's ambushed by a young Spanish engineer, Eduardo Apodaca, who's on the run after stealing $50,000 from a powerful Bolivian industrialist. Blackthorn and Eduardo form an uneasy alliance, traversing the dangerous desert landscape while pursued by a relentless posse. Along the way, Blackthorn reflects on his past adventures with the Sundance Kid and Etta Place, and grapples with the reality of his own mortality. As the posse closes in, Blackthorn must confront his demons and decide what's truly worth fighting for.
