Apostasy

Apostasy tells the story of a devout Jehovah's Witness named Ivanna, who is forced to shun her own sister Luisa after she commits a religious transgression. As Ivanna struggles to maintain her faith and follow the rules of her religion, she begins to question the meaning of God's love. Meanwhile, Luisa faces her own spiritual journey, grappling with the demands of her faith and the consequences of her actions. Set within the insular world of Jehovah's Witnesses, Apostasy offers a rare and intimate look at the complex nature of faith, family, and duty. The film features powerful performances from its cast, including Siobhan Finneran and Sacha Parkinson, and is directed by Daniel Kokotajlo, a former Jehovah's Witness himself.
