Above All Else

In "Above All Else," a retired circus performer named David Daniel takes a stand against the Keystone XL oil pipeline by rallying his community and staging a tree top blockade. Despite facing legal and financial pressure, Daniel and his eccentric group of neighbors and activists refuse to back down, inspired by their conviction to protect their land and the environment. As the fight becomes a battle of the soul, their acts of civil disobedience inspire others to join the cause, turning a local protest into a national rallying cry for climate activists. Shot in beautiful cinematic HD, this documentary captures an intimate portrait of unforgettable characters and their East Texas home, interwoven with an exploration of how they were driven to drastic action.
